Ocean Universal in Westcourt, Cairns has a solid spearfishing range. That's no accident — the shop was originally Spearfishing Superstore, and spearo visit site gear hasn't gone anywhere.
The range includes rail spearguns, camo wetsuits, long-blade fins, low-volume masks, weight belts, floats, dive knives, and general spearo accessories. Gear is suited to tropical spearfishing — not southern stock that wasn't made for FNQ.
The name changed to Ocean Universal because the business had already added scuba and freediving equipment over the years. But the spearfishing range wasn't scaled down. It's still a core part of the store.
The team are active spearfishers and advise on what works on the local reefs.
